Tribute to Angela, my mother

‘Enduring Spirit’ - limited edition print, tribute to Angela (1927-2026)

Driving through the countryside in Waterloo county, late winter, I was struck by the many barns, that stood out in the stark bare surroundings. Some are dilapidated, others in wonderful condition; all standing as proud emblems of hard working, dedicated farming families and their flourishing farms that provide sustenance throughout Waterloo region, the province of Ontario, Canada and beyond. As I was processing these images, one stood out to me as a creative and symbolic tribute to my mother who died in January in her 99th year. Her spirit of fun, resilience and curiosity endures in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and is remembered by legions of friends and acquaintances she made in her lifetime from North America, Australia and Asia. Happy Mother’s Day mom!

“Mom was a woman of hope, faith, faithfulness, unconditional love, courage, and steadfastness. She was my teacher and cheerleader. She lived in the hope to be reunited with dad, and I know together they now enjoy eternal life in God’s home.”
